Abaucin

Abaucin is an experimental new antibiotic that can help combat a highly problematic species of bacteria, Acinetobacter baumannii, a species of bacteria that is often found in hospitals and can lead to pneumonia, meningitis and other serious infections. Abaucin was discovered through the use of an AI algorithm by researchers at the MIT Jameel Clinic, Jim Collins and Regina Barzilay, in partnership with researchers at McMaster University.
