In 2020, as part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Community Jameel launched a hardship fund to support students at the Royal College of Music. Established initially for an initial period of three years, the fund provides financial assistance to students facing unexpected hardship, with any surplus directed to provide scholarship support for international students, with a preference for students from the Arab world.
The first Jameel Scholar supported by the Community Jameel Hardship Fund was Bacem Anas Romdhani, a violinist from Tunisia.
