Côte d’Ivoire-AIP/ 33 fonctionnaires bénéficient d’une formation en évaluation de politiques publiques
Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) Europe partners with École Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d’Économie Appliquée (ENSEA) of Abidjan for a civil servant training programme under an agreement between the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Ministry of Economiy, Planning and Development of Côte d’Ivoire.
Esther Duflo, co-founder and co-director of J-PAL, Cillian Nolan, executive director of J-PAL Europe and Minister Kaba Nialé attended the 15 January 2024 launch of the training programme.
Thirty-three civil servants and state agents are providing nine months of continuing training in the evaluation of public policies, as part of the implementation of the third strategic dialogue memorandum (MDS). 3) signed on July 17, 2023 between the French Development Agency (AFD) and the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Development.
This training launched Monday January 15, 2024 by the Minister of Economy, Planning and Development, Kaba Nialé is implemented by the National School of Statistics and Applied Economics (ENSEA) of Abidjan, in collaboration with the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Laboratory (J-PAL), represented at the launch ceremony by Professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Co-founder and co-director of J-PAL, and Nobel Prize winner in economics 2019 by Esther Duflo. The training will result in a certificate of completion and is intended for civil servants and professionals in the Ivorian public sector.
Supported to the tune of €600,000 by AFD, the training aims to train around forty participants per year in the key and rigorous concepts of impact evaluation, while transmitting a culture of proof in the design and implementation implementation of development policies, for more effective, transparent and results-focused governance, for the benefit of the Ivorian population, according to the Director General of ENSEA, Kouadio Hugues.
