The seventh annual StartSmart entrepreneurship competition concluded in Jeddah. The competition, organised by Bab Rizq Jameel, was held under the slogan 'uses of artificial intelligence in the fields of entrepreneurship and green economy,' and included four distinct tracks: startups, ideas, social enterprises and environment. The closing ceremony of the competition, which was sponsored by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, and Community Jameel Saudi, included the announcement of twelve winners across the four tracks from an initial pool of 1,010 applicants.
The closing event included a series of expert-led workshops about the dynamics of the entrepreneurial sector and market challenges and opportunities, organised by Community Jameel Saudi.
Today, His Highness Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, Governor of Jeddah, sponsored the closing ceremony of the StartSmart Forum 2023, which is held by the Saudi Community Jameel Foundation under the slogan “Uses of Artificial Intelligence in the Fields of Entrepreneurship and the Green Economy,” and organized by Bab Rizq Jameel Company, in partnership with "Let's Badir" program, and the Ministry of Sports as a hosting partner, at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdullah bin Faisal, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Automobile and Motorcycle Federation, and the Director of the Ministry of Sports branch in the Makkah Al-Mukarramah region, Abdulaziz bin Muhammad bin Aboud, And a number of leaders from the business sector and the innovation and investment ecosystem.
This year's edition included four specialized tracks: the ideas track, the startups track, the social companies track, and the newly launched environment track.
Sixty teams were selected out of 1,010 applicants to join the intensive training camp last July, to receive entrepreneurship skills, strategic planning, marketing, and financial management, and they were filtered in the semi-final stage to 36 teams to receive intensive guidance and consulting services, so that in the final stage 12 winners were chosen. To obtain financial prizes, there were 3 winners in each track of the competition, in which the total prizes reached 465 thousand Saudi riyals.
