Abdelrahman Aboufadl

Alumnus (2019), Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo

Abdelrahman Aboufadl is a woodwork and Islamic Arts specialist and 2019 graduate of the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo. He is also a home accessories designer and member of the Egyptian Heritage Rescue Foundation (EHRF), and teaches floral ornamental motifs, geometric patterns and woodworking to students.

During his diploma course at the Jameel House, he specialised in woodwork and arabesque design and also worked as an assistant at Najjar Woodwork and joined the calligrapher programme at Al Qalam school, mastering four types of Kufic calligraphy.

Following his graduation from the Jameel House, he presented a mirror inspired by a minbar of the Qijmas Al-Ishaqi mosque during King Charles III's visit to Bayt Al-Razzaz in Cairo in 2021. He has also delivered woodwork workshops at Bayt Al-Razzaz and the Bibliotecha Alexandrina on geometric design and and patterns in wood veneer. Furthermore, he has contributed to school woodwork certification and curricula and documented traditional Islamic joinery and wood inlay techniques.
