Nora Fouad is a jewellery designer and 2012 graduate of the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo, where she trained in the skills of traditional Islamic Arts from calligraphy, to woodwork and ceramics. After graduating from the Jameel House, Nora worked with various materials and developed her craft, learning from some of the best craftsmen in Morocco and Egypt. She established her own jewellery brand, Norification, in 2015.
As a jewellery designer and business founder, Nora has participated in various product exhibitions and delivered over 15 workshops to more than 60 students to share the craft of jewellery-making. Nora was awarded funding by the social enterprise incubator, Nahdet El Mahrousa, as part of its community hub 'Garage programme', which aims to revive the appreciation of Egyptian identity, art, culture and history using social entrepreneurship as a main tool.
Nora's jewellery is influenced by her love for geometrical shapes and her interest in ancient Egyptian civilisation as well as Coptic and Islamic Arts. Her major custom projects include a collaboration with Lebanese singer and designer Tania Saleh.
