Sarah Kopper is the interim director of research at the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) Africa and associate director of research at J-PAL Global at MIT. She works to improve research operations at J-PAL, with a focus on research resources and knowledge sharing across offices and projects. She leads J-PAL's research transparency work and oversees processes related to J-PAL's affiliates.
In 2023, Sarah received the MIT Prize for Open Data alongside colleagues Jack Cavanagh and Diana Horvath for their work on J-PAL’s Data Publication Infrastructure, which includes a trusted repository of open-access datasets, coding tools and training materials to help other teams publish data in an efficient and ethical manner.
