Academia-industry partnership for effective youth skills development
Synopsis
Academia-industry collaboration could bridge the gap between theory and practice, as well as between school and the world of work, ensuring that the curriculum is relevant to the demands of the job market and that graduates are employable.
Featuring Anjali Sastry, faculty director of the MIT Jameel World Education Lab, the seminar will showcase the valuable lessons learned from MIT's role in fostering collaboration between academia and industry.
This will be discussed within the framework of a World Bank-funded regional technical and vocational education and training (TVET) initiative, which seeks to enhance partnerships between educational institutions and industry for improved skill development in East Africa.
