Addressing climate inequality

A central issue with climate change is that those who contribute least to the problem are being most effected. As part of the LSE Environment Camp happening between 2-3 May, LSE hosts a public event featuring speakers Esther Duflo, the co-founder and co-director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), and Shweta Banerjee, head of BRAC International in India to present new thinking on how to design and finance loss and damage funds. The event is chaired by Oriana Bandiera, the Sir Anthony Atkinson Professor of Economics at the London School of Economics, and also examines how these funds might be best spent to protect vulnerable populations against the effects of climate change.
