ARA funders' roundtable at COP28

The Adaptation Research Alliance (ARA), together with the United Kingdom's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and Community Jameel, host the second session of the ARA funders' roundtable on 4 December 2023 at the Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai.

The ARA funders' roundtable series gathers ARA member and non-member research funders and development donors from philanthropy, multi- and bi-lateral organisations and the private sector to engage on evidence-based adaptation. The series aims to leverage academic research to co-design funding, promote equitable South-South and South-North partnerships and explore pathways to streamline co-funding logistics.

The second roundtable convenes during COP28 to strengthen funder engagement towards action-oriented and evidence-based adaptation efforts, build support for and commitment to the adaptation research for impact principles, and identify priorities and opportunities for collaboration amongst funders.

The session builds on the first ARA funders' roundtable in April 2023, which identified organisational priorities, opportunities for collaboration leveraging existing networks and advancing locally-led research integrating indigenous knowledge.
