Suzan Maher

Suzan Maher is a ceramicist, 2019 graduate of the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo and founder of the ceramics brand Artizan. A geography graduate, Suzan instead decided to pursue a career in traditional crafts and entered the two-year diploma programme at the Jameel House where she honed her skills in using new materials and applying them to heritage, Islamic Art techniques. During the programme Suzan specialised in ceramics and completed her graduation project with large painted ceramic pieces.

After her graduation from the Jameel House, Suzan worked in the El Fustat Traditional Crafts Centre's ceramics department before establishing her own brand 'Artizan', in 2020. Her brand gained local popularity due to its unique designs and high-quality craftsmanship and has since relocated to Dubai to reach a wider market.
