معرض للحفاظ على التراث الإسلامي برعاية "الأمير تشارلز"

The opening of a new exhibition of works inspired by traditional Islamic Arts at the Jameel House of Traditional Arts in Cairo highlighted the educational institution's mission to preserve Egyptian heritage and craft for future generations in collaboration with the Prince's Foundation School and the Egypt Cultural Development Fund. Suzan Maher, a 2019 graduate of the Jameel House and ceramicist, shared how the Jameel House gave her an opportunity to pursue a career in craft after she was unable to join ceramics and copper workshops on Cairo's Al Muizz street because she was a woman. “Many people refused to let me work with them under the pretext that I was a girl. Until I received a scholarship to attend the Jameel House, where I learned from artists from Egypt and England. They also sought to provide us with job opportunities, and I feel very proud that I can preserve the Egyptian heritage from extinction," said Suzan.
