YUNG speaks to Egyptian soprano Laura Mekhail

Soprano Laura Mekhail is the first Arab to be awarded the Andrea Bocelli Foundation-Community Jameel Scholarship. Established in 2019 in partnership with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation and Community Jameel, the scholarship supports new operatic talent to study full-time at the Royal College of Music, London. Since commencing her studies, the Egyptian-born soprano has performed alongside Bocelli himself at Maraya concert hall in AlUla, Saudi Arabia and recently gave a solo performance at Hayy Jameel in Jeddah.
